San Diego State commit. Small, athletic frame. Above average athlete with fluid graceful movements combined with quick twitch actions. Richardson profiles as a utility infielder, where his skill set will allow him to provide value. His elite coordination, instincts means his abilities will likely transfer well into the pro game.
5/21/19
SDSU commit. Five-foot-ten, 160lbs, medium, toned, athletic frame, with muscular definition. If he is on the field, Richardson is the best athlete present hands down. Made a major league play on defense after he was removed from his one and two thirds innings pitched, showing he is able to separate what happened. It is on my top three defensive plays I witnessed this season. Richardson took the loss for Helix allowing seven hits, striking out two and walking one. Two critical errors behind him led to unearned runs. Fastball sat 89-92, topping out at 93. Curve had late bite, but would stay flat occasionally on this day at 70-73. Slider displayed some depth between 75-78. Richardson’s future is as a middle infielder and we will see his name move up our rankings and pop up as a potential draft pick in 2020.

Uncommitted. Athletic and strong build with toolsy potential. Balanced in the box with a slightly open stance. Showed good hip drive and lower half positioning creating the potential for gap to gap power. Barrel moved quickly through the zone and showed a long swing path. Open stance and urge to pull displayed a swinging gate finish and a hole in his swing that mechanically can be fixed. Defensively showed good lateral movement and footspeed. Athleticism and baseball movements project well and allow him to defensively be flexible anywhere on the field
9/16/18
Medium frame that is strong throughout with defined upper body strength down through the arms and wrists. Had only two at-bats in this game. Shows a neutral and balanced stance with fast hands. Barrel is in the zone in a hurry. Shows present strength and a gap-to-gap approach. Average present runner. Rangy shortstop whose arm strength plays up and is able to make all-angle throws. Understands the position and its nuances.
