5/3/19: Strong framed, mature bodied righty who was very similar to my look last summer for the USA CNT. Side saddle setup on the far first base side of the pitching rubber. Worked down the hill while landing slightly closed. Good extension to the plate. High three-quarters slot with a head snap at ball release. Funky arm action; straight and stiff in back. Fastball ranged from 91-94 mph, touched 95 a few times. Kept the ball down early in the game and pitched to both sides of the plate. Showed two breaking pitches, with the curveball again being the better of the two. Average pitch at 75-77 mph. Fringy slider at 82-84 mph with more horizontal break than depth. With his arm action it will be tough for him to consistently spin a breaking pitch, but he managed it well during this look. Pallante battled throughout, but took the loss throwing 94 pitches in his six-inning start. He projects as a reliever at the next level and is a likely Day Two pick this June. (Seifert)
6/29/18: Strong framed righty who set up on the far first base side of the pitching rubber. Worked down the hill while landing slightly closed in good direction to home plate. Pitched from a high three-quarters slot with a head snap at ball release. Fastball ranged from 91-94 mph, touching 95 one time. Had good carry to the plate and hop through the zone. Pitched to both sides of the plate and elevated on occasion. Ball showed good ride when up, may possibly need to throw to this part of the zone more often. Threw two effective breaking pitches; on this look the curveball was the better of the two. Average pitch at 76-78 mph. Flashed a near average slider at 84-86 mph with more horizontal break than depth. Did not see a changeup. Pallante threw two innings and struck out three batters. (Seifert)
