3/25/26

Gonzalez put together an outstanding week at the plate, going 6-for-10 with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a home run, and five walks. He consistently created offensive pressure with both power and on-base ability. On the season, Gonzalez is hitting .370 with a .526 OBP and a 1.119 OPS, continuing to be a key catalyst in the Gahr lineup.

3/24/26

I’ve long been a fan of Gonzalez and the bat is living up to the hype we placed on him as a freshman. He’s hitting at a very high clip this season (.429) and has always been a very active middle infielder with a big arm. He’s added some strength to the frame since last summer and the gains are paying dividends both at the plate and his athleticism. He’s signed with USC but clearly has the attention of pro scouts, as a half dozen of them were filming his open side swings during every at-bat.

3/25/25

The USC commit had just one hit on the day but three loud barrels. Sets up with a sturdy base with present strength in the hands/barrel. Covers the plate well with fast hands and above average barrel control. Athletic and physical frame with room for continued development of strength. Compact swing that keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time; knob to the ball approach, short to it and long through it.

3/23/24

Physical frame with room to add more strength throughout. Shows strengths in the hands allowing him to whip the barrel through the zone keeping it on plane throughout the duration of the swing. Hit contact rate hitter with flashes of over-the-fence power that should continue to show itself as the body physically matures in the coming years. Defensively he's a sound high school shortstop that likely projects to slide over to third base in college and beyond. Shows a quick first step and above average instincts. Moves well laterally and has an innate ability to find himself in the right position when fielding the ball. Funnels out front and shows enough arm strength to play anywhere on the field. Hands are soft when fielding and fast when transferring from glove to throw. Can make throws from all angles with accuracy and carry.
