3/10/19:Physical bodied 6-foot-3, 225 pound first baseman with above average bat speed and big strength for plus raw power. After a very good summer in the Cape (.306/.424/.515) he has struggled with the bat so far this spring (.196/.283/.304). Sets up with a slightly open batting stance. Takes a small hand load near his armpit. Strides hard to his front side, loses some balance and separation by carrying his hands. Looked middle-in, but couldn't get there with his swing. Poor plate coverage inside and was exposed away by sliders. Also struggled with pitch recognition. His superior body strength overcomes some of the deficiencies in his swing, but he may want to attack the ball from a lower angle. Correcting his hip slide could help him get on-plane to the pitch earlier with his swing. Showed both below average arm and run tools. Future potential to be an adequate defender at both first base and possibly corner outfield. Overall, Daschbach is a power-first prospect who will likely receive Day Two draft consideration from the team(s) who think they can help him make enough contact to get to his power. (Seifert)

11/4/18:Large frame showing a very physical build with barreled chest/shoulders; big strength throughout body. Narrow, tall stance with high back elbow and high hands; back shoulder and front leg pinch towards each other in pre-pitch crunch for timing. High leg lift and tuck with ability to get bat vertical before stride and tucking back elbow tight to body quickly turning barrel onto plane. Quick bat that stays on plane before finishing high against back; front shoulder produces lift with upward path. During BP showed big raw pop to pull side and deep to middle of the field; looks to stay that way but also flashed ability to pepper the RCF gap. Bat profiles to 1B for future. At first base showed fair range with soft hands; ability to pick ball out of the dirt shown in pregame I/O and during game. Tends to play high. Mostly below average arm flashed fringe average during pregame, and have previously seen him from the outfield with fringe average arm strength. (Ozella)

8/20/18:Strong, athletic corner outfielder with power potential. At six-foot-three, 225 pounds Daschbach built upon his strong spring for the Cardinal with a .306/.424/.515 line for the Red Sox. A noticeable improvement was seen this summer with his plate discipline; 17 walks and 32 strikeouts in 165 plate appearances compared to 18/60/246 this past spring. Set up with a slightly spread, slightly open stance. Small hand load. Strides hard to his front side with head movement which causes him to be late recognizing the pitch. Has plenty of strength with above average bat speed for plus raw power. Will pull off the ball. Thrives middle-in and can be exposed away, especially with sliders. Must work on keeping his front shoulder in longer and allowing his hands to work independent of his shoulders. Future potential to be an adequate defender at both first base and possibly corner outfield. Below average arm strength and run tools. Bat-first prospect who will likely receive Day Two draft consideration this June. (Seifert)
