A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball

Anthony Murphy, Corona High School (CA), 2026 Positional Profile: OF/RHP Athletic CF defender who shows impact tools both defensively and offensively. Body: 6-0, 182-pounds. Athletic frame with present strength and room to continue to fill. Hit: RHH. Taller stance with feet set close to each other inside shoulder width with his hands set deeper beyond back shoulder and above shoulder height with a higher back elbow and barrel tipped forward over his head. Small scissor kick with his lower 1/2 while using his hips effectively to create torque and bat speed. Stays behind the ball well with leverage through contact. Swing is fairly direct with ability to drive the ball through the middle of the field with authority. Consistently off the barrel throughout. Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 90.9 mph. 379' max distance. Power plays from the pull side gap to the pull side line while effectively getting the ball in the air with hard contact. Shows present raw power with consistent hard contact. Hit tool with power combination. Arm: RH. OF-92 mph. Longer arm path with present arm speed while showing carry to his throws with accuracy that plays to the base. Arm has impact potential. Positional Profile: OF/RHP Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Athletic and projectable with room to fill out and add mass. Hit: Open to start, lower hands held close to head. Leg kick load with little hand movement. Level barrel path through the zone. Showed the ability to hit the ball on a line to all fields. Max bat speed of 69.2 mph. Power: 90.00 max exit velocity, Gap to gap, doubles power present. Expect more to come as the frame develops. Arm: OF - 84.00 mph. Defense: Quality footwork, fielded balls in rhythm without problem on fast-moving turf. Good body control with clean transfers on the throw. Run: 7.40 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Under control, easy delivery with minimal visible effort. Drops eyes on high leg lift before finding the target at the peak. Pushy on the backside which could explain large OF to mound split. East/west plane of rotation. Arm Action: Longer arm swing that takes a full circle with no visible interruptions in the flow of energy. Late getting up at times causing arm side misses. FB: T75, 72-74 mph. Average 73 with 17" of induced vertical break and 11.9" of horizontal break. Lower release height could cause some deception. CB: 58-60 mph. Slower breaking ball dominated by horizontal movement (6.4") with a small amount of drop (1.4"). CH: 62-64 mph. 10 mph velocity difference off the FB with minimal movement difference. This suggests this pitch is relying solely on the velocity difference to miss bats.
