9/16/18 - Uncommitted. Five-foot-11, 155-pounds, medium frame that is long, lean, wiry strong with room to add strength/mass. Twitchy athleticism. Shoulders are squared, limbs are long. Shows strength down into the wrist/hands. Arm is fast and loose from a full path through to his slot. Consistently lands inline and balanced. Fastball touched 90 and lived 87-89 entire outing. Shows some run to the arm side and life as pitch enters hitting zone. Will bust hitters inside with a fastball that bores into righties, something he showed twice in his outing. Curveball shows plus potential at 75-78 mph with it’s two-plane break that shows late. Perez has ability to command the pitch to a spot. Induced several swing-and-miss, and even more no swing attempts. Perez showed feel for a developing changeup during warmup pitches but did not throw it in game. He did throw one pitch that went straight down - think of the action on a splitter - that clocked 82 mph. He did not throw that pitch again.
