3/24/26
Morrison had one of his best outings I’ve seen in person going four strong innings scattering five hits allowing only one earned run and striking out seven. He was up to 92 mph with the fastball in the first before settling in at 88-90 throughout the rest of his outing. He moved the pitch around the entire quadrant of the strike zone inducing weak contact and whiffs. He also flashed a changeup at 84-86 mph that was more of a change of pace pitch and used sparingly. His best pitch on the day was the slider at 78-80 mph. He would take some off and land it for strikes at 75-76 mph. Ironically, when he took velo off the pitch they were the sharpest with the most bite and looked the best. Morrison held his velo throughout his outing sitting 89-90 mph in his fourth inning of work. Despite his best efforts, Morrison was the tough luck loser in this game.
