Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Strength on compact build on an average size frame, good baseball player, has feel for the game offensively defensively and w/intangibles, strong arm behind plate with 77 mph pop throw, times 2.07-2.15 and have seen him go lower than that, ran 7.31 60-yd, competitive each AB, outstanding approach to middle of field and has ability to drive ball to RF as well (2-for-5, 2 1B, F9, F8, F9, BB), tools to hit as well, maxed at 89.3 EV in BP but have seen that number as high as 91 before, solid barrel awareness, nothing other than the raw arm strength stands out relative to a potential plus tool but in totality and when viewed over an extended period or multiple times he shows up as a consistently good player and will play 4-year college baseball.
7/11/21
Body: 5-11, 155 lbs. Medium athletic build.
Hit: Relaxed low-hanging hands with an upright setup. Rocks back onto his backside and bat works more vertical. Glides forward and at times drifts onto his frontside. On-plane efficient swing. Good barrel accuracy. Game 1 he had a nice LD single to right. Game 2 featured an Oppo double down right field line on outside FB. 2B to LC gap on middle FB.
Power: 91mph max exit velo. 321ft max distance. Gap to gap power.
Defense: Athletic defender. Showed solid ability with blocking and receiving. Utilized different crouches. Thumb under and worked up. Decent exchanges on throw downs with a quick arm that is above average. â…˜ accurate throwdowns.
Run: 7.41 laser timed 60.
2/06/21
Body: 5-10, 155-pounds. Long torso on proportional build; strength there but more coming. Hit: RHH. Relaxed, balanced start with low handset; stays tall through the forward move as hands have quick lift/load. Aggressive swings at the baseball. Direct hand path, times where it gets steep and can create backspin to pull side. The ball carried well to the pull side. Power: 88.50 mph exit velocity. Arm: RH. C - 72.00 mph. Shorter arm action as he really pulls into his scalp and brings it back over to a 3/4 slot. 4/5 accurate throwdowns. Defense: 2.02-2.25 pop times. Displayed decent quickness and in-game action showed above-average receiving and blocking skills. Run: 7.61 runner in the 60.
10/10/20
Positional Profile: C Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Proportional with room to fill out in all areas. Hit: RHH. Neutral start, hands held tight to body, quiet load and go. Power: Topped 82 MPH Exit Velocity via Trackman in BP. Power will come with added mass. Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. Short, clean arm action behind the plate that was 75 MPH during defensive workout. Body: 5-foot-9, 145-pounds. Wiry strong, lean build, moves w/some bounce and life in his body Hit: RHH. Balanced and quiet set-up, strong top hand grip limits some swing flexibility/adjustability, athletic stride, aggressive approach, has some plate presence, hips work well there is life in the body, somewhat rotational swing takes barrel out of zone a bit early, tools to hit though some mechanical adjustments will have to be applied to meet his potential. Power: 75 mph EV off tee Arm: Catcher velo - 73 mph - EZ slingshot type arm, good carry, chance to develop abv avg arm, quite accurate and as the footwork cleans up a bit there is a very quality C/T player here. Defense: 2.25-2.31 Pop-times - Very consistent pop throws, good accuracy, calm feet, trusts his arm, can develop a quicker release w/some added sense of urgency but the mechanics are good. Athletic young catcher w/tools to block and receive at abv avg level. During replacement of feet in C/T he can make a less aggressive move with right foot to the RHH batters box while keeping stride more in line with 2nd base. Athleticism and tools are present to allow for adjustments that will elevate his game. Run: 7.54 60-yard
Young 5-9, 145 frame is long and lean with good proportions; should add weight easily. Even hands, balanced stance at the plate utilizing a pronounced hand load deep to back shoulder; showed good drift into the baseball but could get heavy to the front side. Level bat path with direct hands staying middle full round with compact hands; consistently on time to ball (78 EV). Behind the plate was easy out of the crouch showing good direction and using a more mid-3/4 release to keep balls to his glove side; can have more quickness out of the crouch to help lower the pop time. Low to high with his target showing fluid wrist movements and quiet body; receiving skills will keep improving. 2023 to put on lists for Spring/Summer.
