Groves had a solid day at the plate, getting on base twice with a walk and a hit. His first at bat, he followed up Bartlett with a single to LCF to get things going for the Thundering Herd. Like Cuevas, Groves had an at bat where he spoiled 10+ pitches, showing his bat to ball skills and spoiling everything off of Georges. He ended up grounding out to second base, but the hitters in the Elk Grove lineup were tough outs. Groves is headed to Cal this Fall to begin his collegiate career with the Bears.
