Stevenson has broken out in a big way this season for the Warriors program, slotting into the top of their order and manning RF, both positions where he has provided impact. This was my first extended look at the profile the RH hitter possesses on each side of the game, and while still small in sample size, there is plenty to love about what Stevenson can bring as a next-level profile player. The frame is presently athletic with emerging physicality across the upper and lower body, but even more so possesses projection to continue filling out with strength that can take his impressive offensive profile potentially to another level. Stevenson uses the hips effectively in the turn to generate present bat speed in a barrel path that works with leverage to the middle of the field and has real impact towards all parts of the field. The quality of his swing operation is backed by a sound approach that hunts offerings out over the plate or in zones he feels he can do damage. Stevenson is geared to swing more than he is geared to be a disciplined hitter, but is patient enough that if nothing comes within the current approach he has for that at-bat, he will take his walk. He runs well, looking to potentially be an above-average runner with the range to handle either OF corner, but potentially enough in the tank to make a move to CF next year when the spot opens up for the Warriors, with just enough arm to handle RF at a sound level. While RH hitting OF is always a tricky profile when it comes to recruiting for the collegiate level, when a player possesses the type of tools across the board with impact in the offensive skill set (20 XBHs on the year to go with a .300+ avg and .700+ SLG), collegiate programs would be well advised to get their eyes in on Stevenson this summer.
