8/18/18 / - SoCal Underclass Games -Six-foot-1, 185-pounds, physical frame with broad shoulders, barreled chest, and athleticism throughout. Aldrich shows true two-way potential at the high school level with projection on the mound at the collegiate level. Aldrich pounds the zone with a slider that he burry's down-and-in on lefties. It's a power-slider, if you will. Throws a heavy fastball that shows life in the zone. There's feel for the change-up from the rising junior as well. The arm is quick and has life. Delivery is clean and repeatable. For good measure, Aldrich also hit in the event. Well, he was plunked twice in his first two AB's, but he showed enough in his other AB's and his BP round with a gap approach and combination of present strength and bat speed. Bat is whippy. It looks hitterish. Aldrich shows barrel awareness and maintains his hands and swing path in good launch position. Aldrich also played the outfield where he shows range and arm strength along with good instincts and a quick first step..

4/3/18 - 4/6/18 - This kid doesn't know how good he can be/is. Nice stroke from the left side, but his future may be on the mound. Athletic frame. Came in for his first appearance of the year and worked 83-86 with his fastball. It's a short, quick arm and it really jumps on the plate like a high spin rate. Heaviness to the fastball. Changeup was only ok at 77 mph and he was careful with the breaking ball at 69 mph (apparently just started throwing one). I think he will have a chance to throw a hard slider. This is the guy that schools should start getting locked in on a bit more. Arm really works.

1/14/18 - Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 185 pound frame. Athletic build with proportional strength. Squared shoulders, long limbs, squared shoulders, present strength with room for further physical development through maturation. One of the top uncommitted players in his class, Aldrich’s continued development leaves no doubt that he’ll be a highly sought after recruit in his class. On the mound, Aldrich looks like he’s playing catch, arm is free and easy. Fastball worked 82-83 touching 84 several times, shows good quadrant command with the pitch, pitch has some run toward the arm side. Curveball flashes out-pitch potential, sharp with late depth, it has diving action with 11-5 shape. Pitched clocked at 72. In the outfield, Aldrich shows a very good first step and reads on balls in the air, takes good routes to balls on the ground, rounding the ball and coming up in ready-to-throw position, arm plays now, online throws with carry. Offensively, Aldrich uses an upright-slightly open stance, sets hands at ear and rocks them to trigger swing, shows an easy, fluid one-piece swing, shows gap-to-gap abilities. Very instinctive player. Plays the game with a youthful exuberance, like he’s happy to be there.

Summer 2020: Recently graduated high school senior competing in the Northwoods League. With a quick, loose arm from a three-quarter slot, he can run his fastball up to 91 mph, while sitting mostly 87-88 with a low-2100s spin rate. He lacks much deception, giving hitters a good look, but it’s easy velo and Aldrich is very competitive. He complements his fastball with an above average 82-83 mph changeup and a developing 78-80 slurve.
