Cape Cod- Saved 13 games as a 2YR FR for Cal Baptist this spring, then earned four jmore saves for Y-D, posting a 1.72 ERA and a sterling 23-2 K-BB mark. A 6-foot-3, 205-pound righty with a high three-quarters slot, Culpepper really stood out for his ability to hit his spots to both sides of the plate with a 92-93 fastball and a quality slider. He picked up a changeup and a curveball during the summer and started using them in his final outing — and he had a blast doing it, according to Y-D coach Scott Pickler. The changeup is very serviceable already and will only get better, and he's just learning the curveball but it flashed very good break.

Culpepper has the frame and stuff that really project. At 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, he's fit with present strength and has command of a sinking/fading changeup and a fastball that shows cut action. His mechanics are clean with an arm that's quick-to-fast.
