3/19/19

Vs Jesuit - Santa Clara Commit. Put the Warriors on the board with a long double into the LCF gap turning a low 80’s FB driving in a run and showing his athleticism around the bases. Played very well again in CF tracking down balls every way and his arm fits well in CF.

2/21-23/19 3 games - Brigman was instant offense for the Warriors all weekend going 8-12 with 2 walks and regularly showing elite speed down the line (4.12-4.14). He keeps a crouched/relaxed stance with low hands that stay during a quick knee tuck. Brigman showed a quick bat not missing many pitches and driving the ball gap-to-gap with flashes of more pop to the pull side. He walked off Game 2 in the 8th with a LONG double over the LF head that was off the bat quickly. He’s a natural centerfielder showing the ability to track the ball all over with a quick first step and does not give up on a ball into the gaps. That elite speed plays all over the field and on the bases where he can easily score from any base and puts consistent pressure on opposing defenses. The Santa Clara commit has a chance to be a special player and could rise up the rankings for the Draft with a big year.

2/16/19 vs De La Salle - Santa Clara commit, showed off his plus speed and defensive chops throughout the game. He covers every part of centerfield and makes tough plays look routine. He crushed a ball right at the left fielder and if he can be the starter of this offense, the Warriors will score a lot of runs.

7/13/18 - Santa Clara commit. Evaluation at USA PDP workout, good BP round when he was one of the few hitters with line drive and middle of field approach, flat swing, quiet load, gap to gap, good balance, can accelerate through contact, it's an approach that translates to games. Defensively showed plus range and ball tracking skills, closes on ball real well. Ball leaves hand easily, solid carry on throws, quite accurate and a quick release, arm strength can approach average on a pro scale, plays up with his release and ability to close on the ball well. Two live at-bats resulted in a hard 4-3 put-out on 87 mph FB and backward K on CB from LHP.

2/21/18 - Santa Clara commit, Coleman is a strong and well-put-together 6-0 170-pound centerfielder with athleticism and strength that he puts to good use on the diamond. Offensively he has a simple, quiet set-up, with hands set high, and a small load. His stride is minimal and he generates bat speed with good backside rotation and hip drive. His game is about making solid line drive contact and getting on base, where he showed strong basestealing instincts and usable speed.  Defensively he has speed to cover ground gap to gap and a fair throwing arm.

10/27/19: Fall vs Fresno State:Starting in CF and leading off as a Freshman Brigman helps solidify the middle of the field on defense with easy speed (4.36-4.44 H-1st) and great first step reactions in CF. The crouched and relaxed stance gets the short compact swing through the zone and has the patience to be a strong leadoff hitter over the next couple of seasons. Brigman set the offense on the right path starting the game with a double down the LF line before hitting a hard single through the middle leading off the third. Brigman’s range in CF is solid and the left-handed arm is accurate finding his infielders with chest-high throws. Being on base and setting the tone for this offense will allow those other hitters behind him to do damage. (Ozella)
