3/14/18 - 6’3/200, Junior. Fastball was 87-90, touched 91 a couple of times when he needed it in the 6th.  Made some good Oregon State hitters look silly at times, and showed the ability to command the change up to the arm side. He also had more emotion in the game. Got out of some big spots and talked a bit. Did not command the fastball, and was more effectively wild with it. Oregon State took a lot of hittable fastballs early in the count. Breaking ball took 11/5 and 10/4 shape, and he controlled it in the zone. Froze a few guys. More of an average pitch, but played up because he threw it for strikes. Competed. Stiffer finish.

3/7/18 - 6’3/200, Junior. Long limbs with lean, athletic build. Long arm action with stab into high-3/4 slot. Solid average arm speed. Athletic delivery, repeats well. Strike thrower. CH really plays. Plus pitch with arm speed, deception, and depth to it. Solid average command of it, throws in any count, gets swing & misses with it. Below avg FB at 87-91 mph. Works in/out with it, but is mostly straight and can find barrels. Showed below avg breaking ball with sweeping, slurvy action at 73-76 mph. Fair spin, has depth, could turn into useable pitch. Above average athlete. Fields position well. Projection remains with athleticism and frame that can add strength. (7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO)

2/22/18 - Matched up against Beck and Stanford and took the loss (4.1IP, 7H, 5R, 4ER, 3BB, 3K, 3 WP, 1HBP, 1BK). Showed a fair delivery, dragging his backside through instead of exploding off the rubber. Worked hard to get outs and fought himself for fastball command all night long. The fastball played light off of a velocity of 89-94, mostly 91-92, due to his inability to pitch inside and fair life. Showed feel on his curveball as he manipulated the break while throwing it 77-80 mph. Added an occasional changeup at 82-85 mph. Overall, not his best night on the bump against a tough Cardinal lineup.
