Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: Open stance, high back elbow, slightly crouched. Uses a big kick and coil to load with barrel working upwards to create lift to the LCF. Able to find more liners to LF and batspeed is present. In game stayed pullside and aggressive against the FB. Wider shoulders and some length in limbs. 60-yard - 7.54 / EV mph - 87
Defensive notes: Active feet playing with high hips and showing ability to work with some athleticism laterally. Bigger load on throw with higher release at position but accurate to the bag. Worked well on the move through the ball. INF mph - 78
Pitching notes: Simple delivery using a high front knee lift having hands in sync with front leg and breaking cleanly into an over the top release. Creates good direction with the body landing closed and allows his fluid and compact arm to work quickly. FB worked to the gloveside and top half of the zone. Overhand CB with 12/6 shape; consistently spun tightly, flashes sharp and hard break, with feel present in the pitch for strikes or swings. CHG was straight with small bottom and chance to be valuable 3rd pitch. FB 74-77 / CB 67-70 / CHG 66-68
Body: 5-7, 155-pounds. Squared shoulders, present strength high waist.
Hit: RHH. Narrow, squatted stance with knees tight, hands tight with slight pull back working well off the back hip. Small hover allows him to adjust to timing. Handsy swing, works off path that stays pullside of the field. Can occassionally lose the barrel, but showed ability to have flashes of carry to pullside. 20.9 Max Handspeed, 64.1 Max Batspeed, 80% Flyball/Line Drive %
Power: 84.00 mph exit velocity.
Arm: RH. INF - 76.00 mph. Reaches back with his arm and sort of slings it across the diamond. All throws were short to the bag but 3/5 of them were intentional accurate short hops. Slower in getting to release.
Defense: Showed light feet and average glove skills. Upper body doesn't get low to the ball. Break in rhythm when fielding.
Run: 8.08 runner in the 60.
