Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Medium build. Higher waisted. Athletic off the mound. Delivery: Crossfire action. Tall and fall type delivery. Slight pause in the back and push off the rubber late in the delivery. Finishes falling off to the 1B side with lead leg. Arm Action: RH. Medium compact arm circle in the back. Hides it well behind his body. 3/4 slot but will drop occasionally. Quick arm that accelerates to release. FB: T80, 77-79 mph. Trouble with command (36% zone percentage). Good movement characteristics. Above average extension creates some extra perceived velo. SL: 67-68 mph. Sweeping break. Minimal VB at 0.4 avg inches. Decent spin. Used as a chase pitch throughout the outing. CH: 71-72 mph. Kills spin on the pitch. Present downward fade. Good movement characteristics. Trouble with command (20% zone percentage).
1/5/19- SoCal Preseason All-State (fielding) - Showed average footwork around the bag as his body is large for his age and he appears to still be getting used to it. Arm strength was average, but his exchanges were clean while showing the ability to turn the double play easily. At the plate his lack of present strength didn't keep him from routinely squaring the ball up to the outfield. Strength/power really project as he continues to mature physically.
1/5/19- SoCal Preseason All-State (pitching) - 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, athletic build, good instincts, room for growth and added strength. Releases the ball from a high three-quarter arm slot, very short arm circle in the back, showed good balance and relaxed effort. Hunches over to gather self before exploding towards home plate, keeps head straight on to create good command and repeatable mechanics. Has great feel for the change-up, featuring heavy arm side run and sinking action. Needs to increase arm speed and follow through more to create power and velocity. Mature pitcher for age/grade, starter potential with a plus change-up.
