Catano delivered another dominant two-way performance, throwing a five-inning complete-game shutout while allowing just one hit and striking out seven, while also going 5-for-6 with a double, five RBIs, and four runs scored in a two-game series against Crescenta Valley. On the season, Catano is 7-4 with one save, a 1.35 ERA, and 79 strikeouts over 75 innings, while hitting .400 (30-for-75) with seven doubles, two triples, a home run, 26 RBIs, and 21 runs.
Catano turned in a dominant two-way performance against Burbank, tossing a complete-game two-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and no walks, while also hitting a solo home run in a 5-0 win. Catano is now 6-4 with a 1.47 ERA over 57 innings, totaling 72 strikeouts and 12 walks.
Catano was a force on both sides in a two-game series against Pasadena, hitting .714 (5-for-7) with a double, three RBIs, and three runs, while also going 1-0 on the mound with five innings, allowing two hits, zero runs, and striking out five. On the season, Catano is hitting .429 (15-for-35) with five doubles, a triple, 15 RBIs, 11 runs, and four stolen bases.
Catano delivered a dominant outing on the mound, tossing a complete-game shutout (6 IP) in a tight 1-0 win. He allowed just two hits while striking out nine and walking one, showing excellent command and feel. On the season, Catano is now 4-1 with a 1.01 ERA and 31 strikeouts over 27.2 innings.
Catano delivered a strong start in Arcadia’s 1-0 victory over Ayala. The right-hander tossed 6.1 shutout innings while allowing five hits and striking out five. Catano’s performance kept the opposition off the board and helped secure the narrow win.
Catano followed up in game two of the two-game set vs. Crescenta Valley with an impressive outing of his own. Pitching into the 9th, Catano allowed four hits over 8.1 shutout innings, striking out 2 and walking just 2. Arcadia would win it in the 10th to finish off the two-game sweep. The junior is now 8-1 on the year, with 44 strikeouts across 57 innings to the tune of a 1.23 ERA.
The lefty Catano showed his effectiveness on both sides of the ball for Arcadia. Across two games, Catano went 6-for-8 with a 2B, 3B, 5 RBI, and 5 runs scored. Catano also earned the win vs. Muir High School with 4 scoreless innings, striking out 5.
The crafty lefty Catano went a full six innings, nine strikeouts, two hits. Pounded the zone full of strikes and had lots of swing and miss.
