Williams had a strong week on the mound, throwing across two appearances totaling five innings with 11 strikeouts, earning a win and a save. He struck out nine in one outing and added two more in a save situation. On the season, Williams is 5-0 with one save, a 0.67 ERA, and 46 strikeouts over 31.1 innings, while also contributing offensively with four home runs, five doubles, and three triples.
Williams continued his strong season with another big week at the plate. The two-way standout went 5-for-9 with two doubles, two home runs, four RBIs, four runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base. Williams is now hitting .600 through five games with nine hits and three home runs.
Williams showcased his two-way impact during the week for Bishop O’Dowd. At the plate he went 4-for-6 with a single, two doubles, a home run, three RBIs, five runs scored, two walks, and four stolen bases. On the mound, Williams added three innings of work while striking out six and allowing no walks to earn the win.
Second look at Williams and he displayed his ability to hit midde-away pitches with a sound approach at the dish that goes along with his quick swing. Williams roped two 2B’s on the day both to LF and CF. Both hits came on middle-away FBs. Williams has a sound lower half using a small stride to stay behind his front side. His movement back is quick but he does a great job not getting over extended. He works counts well and is aggressive in the box with a fluid swing and direct bat path towards the baseball. His outstanding barrel control with a strong top hand gives him the ability to get consistent extension and spray the baseball around the field. He holds an even plane on his swing allowing him to keep his body towards center field. His bat will allow him to be a top of the order hitter at the next level, and his ability to let pitches get deep with good barrel control will play well in his future. Williams has been a fun watch this year and he is in store for a big SR year in 2026.
Williams impressed against Pinole Valley on both sides of the diamond, going 1-2 with a hustle double and closing the game striking out the side. Williams has an aggressive approach at the plate, swinging early in counts and is ready for every single pitch. His load is always on time, allowing him to not be fooled by offspeed and ready for the fastball. Williams has quick hands and a flat bat path, which creates the opportunity for him to hit line drives and really backspin the baseball. He has a great approach and is not trying to pull off the baseball, as he showed with his 2b up the middle. He stays inside pitches well and as a baserunner, looks to take the next bag. In a 3-1 ball game with a runner on first, he was called to close the game. Immediately I noticed his confidence and ability to get the job done. Williams relied on his fastball that sat around 83-85, mixing in his changeup and slider making batters uncomfortable in the box. He has a quick tempo and great control of the zone as he is able to locate any pitch he throws. He is able to throw offspeed at any point in the count as he showed that in this matchup. His final pitching line was 1.0 IP, 3Ks, and a save. Williams is comfortable on both sides of the field and makes a huge impact on the game.
