8/1/18 - Five-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Holt swung the bat with the intent to do damage while flashing some bat speed through the zone; 83 mph off the tee. From a slightly open, upright stance, Holt uses a slight leg lift trigger before shooting balls the other way with authority. Gets extension through the ball and flashes current gap power. Stays balanced throughout the swing while his barrel is on a slight uphill plane. From behind the plate, Holt shows the ability to catch-and-throw at a high level, posting pop times between 1.97-2.01 while all but one throw was on the bag; 74 mph position velocity. Clean and easy arm stroke, quick hand out front on release. His footwork is short and quick allowing him to get rid of the ball quickly while providing good direction.
3/18/18– Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pound, medium sized frame with athletic, solid build. Holt is an aggressive FB, front foot hitter that has the ability to square the ball up on a consistent basis with good bat speed. He demonstrates excellent hand-eye coordination and the skill to hit behind runners. Holt’s approach is a little unrefined, but correctable with minor adjustments. He possesses the ability to hit the ball out of the park, but his success will come in the form of extra base hits and putting the ball in play with authority. Clocked at 4.12 to 1B on a routine ground ball, Holt is an above average runner that can cause havoc on the bases and disrupt pitchers tempo and rhythm. Holt plays a solid LF and exhibits an above average arm with excellent range, however his body movements, athleticism, and arm action, is a better fit for the catching position.
