5/12/26
Mason delivered a massive offensive performance, going 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and impacting the game seemingly every time he stepped in the box. He broke the game open in the 4th with a sharply hit ball that ate up the second baseman (ruled a hit) and plated two runs, then followed it later with another hard barrel to right field that brought home two more and widened the gap for the Oilers. The biggest swing came late, when Mason launched a towering three-run homer that removed any doubt and capped off an explosive day offensively. The left-handed hitter continues to show a rare blend of athleticism and impact, with tools that stand out immediately in live looks. Defensively, Mason possesses the type of movement skills and athletic profile to handle multiple premium positions. He can move comfortably on the left side of the infield and also has the range and athleticism to profile in center field. At the plate, the production has backed up the tools all spring long, now hitting .389 with 37 hits, 9 doubles, 3 triples, and 31 RBIs. While there’s still some swing-and-miss present, the projected strength gains, the bat speed, barrel impact, and frequency of hard contact give the profile considerable upside and one to bet on as a premier ‘27 prospect in the class.
7/24/25

Elyjah Mason, Huntington Beach High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/SS LHH with a composed approach and fluid, natural defensive actions that can transition well to multiple positions.
Body: 6-2, 166-pounds. Uber athletic, well-proportioned frame with noticeable functional strength across the body.
Hit: LHH. Starts with a calm, low-effort gather into the back hip, maintaining balance and rhythm before initiating a short, efficient stride. Generates power through strong rotational drive, allowing the lower half to work in sync with the upper body. Barrel carries weight through the zone with a deliberate, extended path designed to create loft. Swing shows natural leverage and whip through contact, producing lift while still maintaining the ability to square up pitches with authority.
Power: 101 max exit velocity, averaged 85.2 mph. 360' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. Arm works effortlessly, providing both carry and velocity on throws while maintaining balance and body control on plays to any base. Low three-quarter slot with a compact, efficient arm action.
Defense: Shows fluid, athletic actions with a relaxed, natural feel for the SS/3B position. Moves with confidence, using soft, sure hands to field the ball cleanly. Demonstrates quick, decisive reactions while maintaining balance, allowing for accurate and efficient transfers on routine and off-balance plays alike. Potential CF profile with the present athleticism.

A late addition to the event, Mason made arguably the biggest case for making Team SoCal at the Future Games. Mason led things off with an event low 6.66 laser timed sixty yard dash showing athleticism in his running action on his 6’2” 167lb frame. During the workout portion of the event, Mason showed athletic movements on the dirt with fast hands and desirable footwork at the hot corner. His BP was two rounds of barrels that sprayed the gaps with line drives. But, it was during the game where Mason put it all together and really stood out. He started with a standup triple to the right center field gap that was 96mph off the bat, he followed with a walk and a double to the left center field gap that was 92mph off the bat. Simple and rhythmic stroke at the plate with a knack for getting the barrel to the ball consistently.
