2/12/19 - Bigani, a UNLV signee, is a Six-foot, 185-pound catcher with a strong, sturdy frame necessary for the position. There’s noticeable strength in the lower half and from the shoulders down through to the hands. Sets up quietly with no wasted movements in his low crouch while showing soft hands that frame pitches without giving away location on misses, often beating the pitch to the spot. Blocks well and recovers quickly coming up in a ready-to-throw position consistently. Popped in the 2.01-2.1 range between innings; there were no stolen base attempts in-game. At the plate he shows a balanced setup with an aggressive approach. Can drift at times causing him to meet the ball out front. Shows quick hands and an understanding of the strike zone that allows him to be selective on pitches he offers at.
