5/25/25

It was my first look at Williams and he impressed with a CG shutout W vs a tough Bellarmine squad. The RHP has a present physical frame standing at 6-0, 200 lb with room for more. He has a wide arsenal throwing a FB/SL/CH/CB and is able to command all pitches. His FB has arm side run working more like a 2-seam while his CH possess arm side fade. The SL and CB have tons of vertical / horizontal break and the pitches worked well in the zone as Williams used it to get ahead in the game. Williams displayed quick tempo with simple mechanics working straight at guys and getting ahead using any pitch in his arsenal. His FB runs into the zone late which helps tunnels his SL that breaks late in the zone. Bellarmine hitters were never comfortable, making weak contact and whiffing with chase at the pitches. The CB works like a 12-6 and plays well in the lower half of the zone, making it a tough pitch to square up. He mixed in his CH on even counts and his arm side fade induced weak contact mixed with whiff. He finished the game with 4 K and allowed 4 hits. Someone to keep an eye out for 2026.
