7/24/19: Berkey started at SS and led off for the Great Plains All- Stars and turned some heads with his defensive prowess. A twitchy athlete at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, he has solid actions and an above average arm across the infield that will stick at shortstop. His hitting numbers are impressive as well for the summer. Berkey is talented within his approach to spray the ball to all fields and control his barrel with very talented hands. Not a ton of juice (six doubles and one HR), but will grow into more power as his frame fills out. He’s hitting .361 for the Honkers and continues to be a staple for them at shortstop well past the halfway point. Berkey is a gamer and will be a great addition to an affiliate in the near future.
