5/24/25
Seneres, the future Triton, came through with a composed and effective outing on the mound, tossing 5 strong innings with 2 runs allowed that helped lead San Pasqual to a win — and a spot in the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 semifinals. Seneres worked 83-85 mph with his fastball, a heavy sinker out of a three-quarters slot that showed consistent arm-side run and late dive. The pitch consistently produced weak contact, with several jam shots and groundouts as EC hitters struggled to square it up. His ability to command the sinker to both sides of the plate was key in getting ahead in early counts. He paired the fastball with a 72-75 mph curveball that featured sweeping horizontal action. The breaking ball complemented the sinker perfectly, giving him a distinct east-west profile. Seneres used the curve effectively throughout the outing, both to steal strikes early and as a put-away pitch. It drew several uncomfortable swings and helped him navigate through key moments, especially when facing right-handed hitters. The pitch got better as the outing progressed with it looking the sharpest in his final inning of work. What stood out most was Seneres’ game awareness. He pitched with confidence, adjusted to contact, and trusted his defense behind him. In multiple situations with runners on base, he executed with poise and found ways to minimize damage. There were multiple innings where El Camino was rallying but he did a great job keeping the game tied at 2 when he finished the 5th. Beyond his impact on the mound, Seneres continues to contribute offensively as a top-of-the-order bat for San Pasqual. The two-way value adds another layer to his profile as he heads toward the next level.
