at Woodcreek HS - Uncommitted; Undersized but athletically built, good baseball player w/ability to play above average defense at the college level at either SS or 2B. Strong arm, ball comes out with easy quick release while producing accurate on-line carry, soft confident sticky hands, goes to backhand well, middle/oppo approach, short quick stroke, works inside and lets ball travel, little sneaky gap pop, tough at-bat and overall showed to be a winning type of player.

Scrimmages (2) vs Jesuit/Bella Vista - Uncommitted as of this report. Average 5-foot-8 145-pounds. He has a whippy swing and feel for the bat, in particularly getting the barrel out and finding the sweet spot. In one particularly impressive at-bat he choked up in an RBI situation and popped the ball to right to drive in the run. On occasion the barrel will get a bit too far ahead of his hands and the approach was generally taking him to the pull side but he wasn't beat or overmatched by any of the good velocity he saw. There is a scrappy feel about him on the field and you can sense when he's in the box that he is the type of kid who just loves baseball. That he can hit and also showed solid infield skills (nice carry on his throws from SS), well, Petruccelli has the look of a winning-type player.
