Cape Cod: Finished the summer with an impressive 42 strikeouts (ranked third in the league) in 28 innings of work despite an average arsenal and below-average walk rates (5.1 per nine). He worked 89-91 mph with his heater in our viewing, backing it up with an average 80-81 mph changeup with straight dive, a fringe-average 81-84 mph slider with tight action and a below-average mid-70s curve with 12/6 action

Taylor worked from a high three-quarter slot, firing 92-94 fastballs early, and his 82-84 mph slider was a put-away pitch. He competed in the zone, routinely getting pitch one across for strike one, while mixing in his off speed early in the count. In five innings pitched, he allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and a career high seven strikeouts.
