at Fresno Easter Classic - Fresno State commit; Looks far more physical than the last time I saw him play last summer. He’s stronger throughout the frame, particularly in the shoulders and lower half. Showed excellent range making plays to both sides. The backhand was very good in this viewing; smooth and seamless. He’s coming back from a sore arm/shoulder and it appears he’s still not 100% in that area. At the plate the added strength was on display as he took the first pitch he saw in the game deep over the left-center field wall for a three-run home run. He hit a couple other balls hard in the viewing.
vs Clovis North - Fresno State commit. Strong athletic body type, strong and well-proportioned. Played 1st base in this outing due to some early season arm soreness and given his status as one of the team's top pitchers it made sense. Not best day at plate, was late and feeling for the ball, timing was not there and it was an entirely pull side approach which could have been due to that soreness in his left arm. In any case, chased a couple of pitches up and away for K's before singling on a high change-up in his third at-bat. Played a good and clean first base, showing ability to stay below the ball on short hops and showed that he's got feel for the game at multiple positions. One of the Valley's top players, just not his best day. Demeanor remained good all game.
at USA PDP workout - Fresno State commit. Good strength and aggressiveness and raw physicallity, has fast hands and raw juice. Hunts to do damage and works to create rhythm in his approach though that rhythm looks strictly geared to hammer fastballs. Showed raw power that can be home run power in college and beyond. Defensively showed a plus arm, easy throwing motion, ball came out quite easily, projects to be legit plus arm across the diamond. Did not pitch at this workout.
Fresno State commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame with squared and broad shoulders with larger feet that projects added size and strength. Defensively Bryan shows fluid actions with excellent footwork and range both laterally and dropping back. Funnels balls out front and has the arm strength to make all throws from every angle. Projects at second or third base if he does not make the move to the mound full-time. Offensively Bryan uses a setup where he is loaded on his back leg with high hands. He uses a slight toe lift trigger before dropping his hands and barrel into the hitting zone. Shows very good feel for the barrel and display good bat-to-ball skills. Strong through the forearms. Shows the ability to adjust to pitches during at-bats with current gap-to-gap power. On the mound Bryan is very intriguing. Uses a slow lull you to sleep delivery before unleashing his pitches on hitters from a high ¾ arm slot. Arm is fast and explosive. Loads on backside before a slight crouch and explosion into delivery. Fastball shows a tick of late life but is otherwise straight and works 87-89 mph touching 90 several times during his outing. The curveball is a tad slurvy showing sweeping action at 72-74 mph. Bryan shows feel for a changeup at 79-80 mph.
