2027 INF/C Isaak Perez, Montgomery HS
Isaak was put in a tough spot for his first AB of the game. His name was called in the top of the 6th inning, when the Aztecs needed a spark. He delivered, producing a double off the very top of the wall in left center, one of the deepest parts of the park. Perez jumped on a FB over the outer part of the plate. His fast and powerful swing has natural pop. He is able to get his hands extended and look to do damage over the outer part of the plate. He also showed the ability to adjust, hitting a backside double over the RF on an inside FB. At first glance it looked like he got jammed, but the RHH’s natural power took over as the ball kept carrying to RF. At the time, it gave the Aztecs a 2 run lead going into the bottom of the 7th. I was thoroughly impressed at Isaak’s performance off the bench and believe he will be a staple in the lineup for the rest of the season.
