Cape Cod: Showed average stuff, including an 88-89 mph fastball, fringy 82-83 mph changeup and upper-70s 12/6 curve with moderate depth, but wielded his arsenal with excellent feel. Additionally, he adjusted his pacing well on the bump, keeping hitters and runners alike off-balanced, helping the Torero to a 2.05 ERA over the course of the summer with 25 strikeouts in 22 innings of work
5/16/18
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pound athletic, compact frame. Strong defender at third base where his arm plays presently and his actions are clean. Transitions are clean and fast. Arm can make all throws. Footwork is above average as Romero plays lighter on the front of his feet enabling a quick first step. Really intriguing on the mound where he attacks hitters with a downhill fastball at 83-85 which he works side-to-side. His curveball is sharp and snapping as it approaches the hitting zone. The pitch works for him at 71-73 and is a projectable pitch. Romero shows feel for a change up at 77-79, but at times lacks the movement consistent with the pitch selection. However, when he gets it dancing it really moves which is encouraging.
