Uncommitted; Standing at 6-foot-1, he fills out his body well and one can envision the power that he will develop on the frame. Showed impressive tools, from exit velo of 95mph and throwing across the diamond at 90 mph. Talent to play multiple positions and hit for power.
60 yd: With a front hip and foot open ready to push through from start, explodes into the 60-yard dash. Explosive start with consistent rhythm with his arms and legs, strong at the end as he maintained balance through the finish line.
3B Def: Playing at 3rd base, he uses his big stature well. Standing wide and ready to see the ball off the bat, able to react to all balls hit. His transition from glove to hand is quick, with a long arm, the ball jumps out of his hand. Lateral movements were clean and smooth. Showed he can throw with accuracy from different angles. His delivery to second base on the two-ball was on target and easy for the second base to receive.
Hitting: Stands tall in the box, with a low starting spot for his hands. With slight rhythmic movement, created consistent timing every pitch. Front foot stride works well with hands being loaded. All the while staying behind the ball and letting the ball travel. Once stride foot lands, body is an athletic position and hands ready to react. Able to stay back and gain leverage with his hands low and nose behind the ball. The swing is smooth and rhythmic, so the ball jumps at contact.
Summary: His size stands out, his ability to hit to all fields, play a clean 3rd base and athleticism, all told it’s a strong package for this uncommitted 2022 grad.
