2021 MLB Draft: Schwartz is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound athletic-bodied prospect with a ton of upside. He's long and loose with those same qualities in his infield actions. However, his bat is his carrying tool. With advanced hands, and a loose, quick bat that shows adjustability. He commands the strike zone well, rarlely swinging at a pitch out of the zone, and uses the whole field with doubles power. With physical maturity it should translate into more home runs. After red-shirting as a freshman in 2019, Schwartz hit the ground running in 2020 with a .328/.380/.391 slash line and then took it to another level in 2021 posting a .396 average with 21 extra-base hits and more walks (37) than strikeouts (28).
Schwartz is a 6-foot-4, 205 body with a ton of upside. Has a tall and loose body with some lower half strength and redshirted this spring for the Bruins. Long loose actions in the field, but the bat is the best tool. Advanced hands, with a loose, quick bat that showed adjustability. Commanded the strike zone well, without swinging at a pitch out of the zone. Uses the whole field with doubles type power, but will translate into more home runs as the physical maturity continues to progress. (DeGagne)
3/18 – UCLA commit, 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame, projectable XL frame with athleticism throughout. High waist with toned legs. There is room for physical development and strength in upper body as he matures and ages. Schwartz has an aggressive approach, shows plate awareness, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to manipulate the barrel using both sides of the field. He is able to drive the ball deep into gaps for high 2B totals and has the power potential to hit the ball over the fence regularly. Schwartz displays sound defensive actions, an above average arm with the ability to make plays and throws on the run. All throws are chest high and on target. Schwartz is not a burner, but is more than adequate base runner that has aptitude and feel. Clocked at a 4.35 to 1B. He is an elite competitor that demonstrates maturity and skill on the field.
