vs Monte Vista HS - Sacramento State commit; Long and strong body, filled out quite a bit in last year, lean strength throughout, starting pitcher and 3rd hitter in order, long easy arm action, overhand slot, climbs on top of the FB when delivery is on-time, in-line stride, flashed steep FB angle along w/some sink on occasion, control was solid and occasionally good, peaked at 89 mph, steady 84-86 mph as he went into the 6th inning, CB 72-75 mph with slider-ish shape and what appeared to be fair spin, best secondary pitch is CHG (76-79 mph), finished it well and used frequently and confidently. Offensively has a mature approach that suits an RBI spot in the order, works middle of field, focus to get ball in the air, showed bat control with slash single in first inning after showing bunt.

vs Vacaville HS - Uncommitted; Tall rangy R/R player at what appears to be around 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, he has an advanced approach and plan for a sophomore, which had him hitting out of the 3-spot in the order. Good pitch recognition skills, clean hand pat that keeps the barrel in the zone and works the middle of the field. Two LONG 6-7 pitch at-bats in first two plate appearances for BBs, then knocked a ball off the pitcher's body in 3rd AB. There will be power in the coming years but for now, the approach and hit tool show up and will give that power time to develop. Lapse of judgement on a poor throw across the diamond led to a run early in the game. Good arm and plenty of room for growth and development as a defender.
