Grindlinger turned in another strong outing, working 6 innings for the win, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 6 over 88 pitches. The left-hander attacked with a power arsenal, operating at 92-95 mph (T95.6) with the fastball while pairing it with an 82-84 mph slider and a devastating 80-83 mph changeup. With numerous evaluators in attendance, Grindlinger answered the call and looked increasingly sharp as the outing progressed. The fastball played especially well in two-strike counts, where he consistently elevated after establishing effective tunnels with his secondary offerings. The changeup stood out as a true weapon, at times looking nearly unhittable with heavy vertical drop and low spin characteristics that disrupted timing and produced uncomfortable swings. He showed command of all three pitches and confidently mixed throughout the outing, using the secondaries heavily enough to keep hitters from sitting on velocity. Grindlinger’s presence and confidence on the mound continue to stand out. He bore down in key situations, induced weak contact throughout the game, and showed clear trust in his stuff. He also contributed offensively, delivering a big RBI single in the fourth inning that extended Huntington Beach’s lead to 2-0 at the time. The overall body of work this spring has been dominant, now sitting at 6-0 with a 0.91 ERA, 59 strikeouts, and just 13 walks, continuing to cement himself as one of the premier left-handed arms in this upcoming draft class.

Positional Profile: OF/LHP Intriguing LH hitting profile which shows feel to hit with power in profile. Athletic two-way potential as defender who has long term CF potential with impact.
Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Athletic present build with emerging strength throughout his frame showing room to still add as he matures.
Hit: LHH. Slightly wider base with weight shifted towards rear leg with open foot set up and rear knee bend. Upper body leans back with coiled front shoulder. Hands set just above shoulder height beyond rear shoulder with barrel angled behind his head towards RF foul pole. Small load into rear side with double tap off front foot (gets to even before going forward) lands at launch with hands back and front side coiled. Smooth turn with quickness that sequences well. Stays taller in lower half while tilting in upper body. Bat works uphill through the zone with all fields impact. 71.6 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 94.0 mph. 376' max distance. Consistent hard contact with a leverage based bat path that shows middle of the field carry and pull side loft. High level present max EV projects hit with power profile.

The number one player in the 2027 for the State of California showed why during his appearance at the Prep Baseball ProCase West. Checking in at a measured 6'3 180 lbs. Grindlinger started his day by taking an impressive batting practice session with the second highest exit velocity for a 2027 from California by posting a max exit velocity of 99.2 MPH while averaging 94 MPH throughout his two rounds. The LH hitter blasted a 375' drive with a hard hit rate of 88% and sweet spot rate of 66% in his two rounds showing his consistent feel for hard contact with raw power. His Blast Motion metrics were impressive throughout his batting practice and the combination of his strong batted ball data, impressive swing metrics showed up during the game play portion of the day. Grindlinger had a pair of at bats during the sim game posting a pair of base hits including a 100+ MPH exit velocity single which he turned into a run for the west squad. Grindlinger's athleticism was on display when running the bases and playing CF where he looks comfortably strong to stay long term as a defensive option.

Grindlinger shined on both sides of the ball in the season opening win vs. Harvard-Westlake. Starting in LF and batting 7th, Grindlinger went 2-for-3 with 2 2B and an RBI. The sophomore moved to the mound in the 5th, where he tossed 2 perfect innings and struck out 3.
