Hassel took 4 quality at-bats tonight going 1-4 with a single off the left field wall. Hassel has a relaxed approach at the plate with the ability to hit the ball to all fields with authority. There is loud contact of the barrel and his power tool will only blossom as his body matures.

Cal State Northridge commit. 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame that can easily add more mass on his broad shoulders and thick, defined lower half. Hassel is committed to Northridge as a catcher, but he also pitches. On this day he was the DH for Tesoro. A big, physical being in the box, Hassel has an uppercut line drive swing path. Shows good feel for the barrel and the hitting zone, while taking some aggressive hacks at the plate. Swing can be long at times, but he shows the ability to make adjustments and not repeat the long swings during the same at-bats. There's present power and it projects for more consistency with minor tweaks to his swing. Clocked 5.03 home-to-first with turn.
