1/10/19 - Nicolai looks primed for a big senior season after missing much of the 2018 campaign. The first baseman has power in the bat and looks to be in great shape physically. He's an athletic fielder who shows nimble footwork and an above average arm. Shows the versatility to play either corner infield position.

3/2/2018 – USD commit. 6-foot-3, 210-pound, physical presence on a XL frame, with country strength. Nicolai has plus bat speed with big time power, which comes from both impressive size and strength. He is a hit-first first baseman with an impact bat, which projects to add even more power down the line. Nicolai shows he can move with rhythm defensively with excellent footwork, solid range, and around the bag awareness at first base. He also plays third base displaying a strong, accurate arm with carry and zip. Nicolai is not fast, but moves well underway for his size.
