at Petaluma - Athletic 5-foot-9, 165-pounds, in terms of results (he was 4-4 and his bunt single with a runner at 3B in I believe the 5th inning that made it 2-0 and also had two line drive singles to left and a hustle double on a ball he lashed to right-centerfield). His hands really work at the plate, good top hand on the high pitch, barrel all game long, has enough bat speed now and more as he gets stronger, but its the timing and ability to see the pitch early that stood out as he covered all parts of the zone. Very aggressive base runner, big hard aggressive turn allowed him to take 2nd on that hustle double. Impressive freshman hitting out of the 5-hole in his first game. To make it all more impressive, he was facing a pitcher who was 84-87 mph to go with a good hard breaking ball. Nothing cheap.
