1/20/19 - Joseph Romero has a long, lean, wiry strong frame with strength in the lower half and squared shoulders with strength down into the hands. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, there’s room for continued physical growth. His arm is loose and clean while his mechanics are repeatable and consistent. The ball jumps out of his hand from almost a slingshot style release at a 3/4 slot. Worked his 86-89 mph fastball to both sides of the plate with command that resulted in swing-and-miss. Flashed a 2 seamer with major cut/life at 84 mph. Curveball can be a tick loopy, almost as if he doesn’t snap it. When thrown with conviction it’s a great complement to his two fastballs as it worked down in the zone with late break and some depth. Intriguing arm to follow moving forward.
