1/5/19 – SoCal Preseason All-State. SDSU commit. 5-foot-11, 188 lbs. Medium/Large durable frame. Switch-hitter with a whippy bat and a level stroke coming around the zone from both sides. Lacks strength in frame to do big damage, but will be able to drive balls deep into gaps for high doubles totals. Flashed soft hands and the ability to aggressively play through ground balls. Has enough arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield although he may profile as a third baseman in the future. Footwork can get choppy, but he manages to get to the ball under control. Pyatt is an average runner that is adequate on the bases.
1/5/19 - SoCal Preseason All-State Quick Hits - Pyatt is the 55th ranked player in the state Class of 2020 and he showed he belongs on the list of top players in the state. Pyatt appears stronger and thicker since the last time we saw him in last spring/summer. There's noticeable strength in the shoulders and legs. That strength showed up well in his left-handed swing where there's present whip and bat speed resulting in gap-to-gap line drives. His defensive actions are so smooth it almost looks as though he's not trying before he unleashes his arm strength across the diamond. Pyatt is a San Diego State commit.
