2028 OF Keith Clark, Madison HS
One of the more impactful performances of the day came from Clark. Hitting in the 8-hole, the sophomore went 2-4 with a home run and a double. The sophomore has a short, compact swing with a direct path to the baseball. The simple swing allows him to consistently get the barrel to the ball. On his home run pitch, it was up and away, where he was able to get extended and drive the ball in the air to RF. Clark’s clutch factor showed up most. With his team trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the 7th, he jumped on a pitch and left the yard to spark a rally that ultimately tied the game. He followed it up in the 8th inning with two outs and a runner on second, staying on an outer-half pitch and driving it down the LF line for a walk-off double. The sophomore is definitely not scared of the moment. Clark currently features a smaller, projectable frame with room to add strength, which should continue to unlock more consistent power as he develops. The combination of a compact swing, sneaky pop, and competitive edge makes him an intriguing sophomore to follow moving forward.
