at College Park HS - Washington State signee; Has many of the tools that will play in college and likely beyond. He has a very strong arm, which he showed off pre-game. He has a lanky build that gives him freedom to move quickly in the outfield, in this case right field. Jones is aggressive at the plate, swinging early in the count in each of his at-bats. He makes loud contact and roped a ball to right that the fielder had to make a good play on to save it from being a hit. He took an off-speed pitch the other way, lining a lead-off double to left in one of his at-bats. Went home to first with turn in 4.66 seconds but appears to be quicker than that when underway. Jones showed great discipline staying back on the pitch and letting it travel. He wasn’t tested during the game in the field but it’s clear his arm will play. Also came in to pitch two innings (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 3 BB, 3 K). Showed a lively fastball that was overpowering hitters. Curve was a good contrast and had late, downward break. CHG had fade.

vs Freedom HS in NCS D1 playoff - Washington State commit; Long rangy body type with strength projectability, easy relaxed actions, smooth stroke with good timing, stayed disciplined with gap to gap approach with ability to hit with authority to all fields, lets barrel live and stays behind the ball, projects to develop as above average as collegiate/pro player, defensively played centerfield, plays at a difficult park that is often very windy, first move was to break back but showed that he could change course and close well.

Underclass Area Code Games -  Large frame showing long arms and legs matched with a high waist; very lean build showing wiry muscles. Slightly open stance with even hands that lift up upon load; oppo approach with ability to keep hands tight and turn on ball from inner half of plate. Showed in game bat-to-ball skills with chopped 2B over 3B head and ability to keep hands tight and turn ball past 1B for 3B in another game; 2 other singles to shallow outfield keeping front shoulder locked in on the ball. Below average runner plays up with foot quickness and ability to turn up speed when needing to take extra bases; 4.5, 4.6 home-to-first. Showed instincts as base runner by stealing bases with quick reaction and first step explosion that also carried over to outfield. Average outfielder with ability to make plays to his glove side in both corner outfield spots; below average arm from short circle showing limited carry to the bags.

Uncommitted at time of report; Lanky athletic body, moves around gracefully but with some twitchiness, body and actions reminiscent of Willie McGee, stands close to the plate, short swing and gets good extension through contact, stays inside ball well, compact stroke but will be able to drive the ball with power as he physically matures, as showed in this game with homer to right field. Stays behind ball well and good balance throughout the swing.
