7/15/22

2022 MLB Draft League: Undersized athlete checking in at 5'9 shows AA bat to ball skills (85% going back to CAL), as he has a flatter swing and is able to shorten up and pepper the baseball to all fields. Carrying tool is the defense as he can pick it at SS by making rangey plays while being sure handed with the glove. Has the ability to play up the middle long term.

2/19/19

Started at SS for Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Cal commit showed off athleticism in the infield and out of the box at the plate. At SS, he showed a soft glove with an arm that will play in the middle of the diamond. I loved his vocal leadership helping the younger players and getting everyone on the same page. Coach Morgan also mentioned he has the range to play CF. He showed a short, compact swing with a 1B to CF driving in 2 and another single that was a cue shot around 3B where he showed off his speed down the line. The Fightin’ Irish will need him to be the table-setter for their offense this season.

7/13/18

7/13/18 - Uncommitted, evaluation took place at USA PDP. Lashing swing, flat path more often than not, easy swing with strong hands, quiet approach, set-up similar to Ryan Braun in regard to how he holds bat and throws the barrel. Good back elbow and back hip sync. Best when finishing with good top hand and a gap to gap approach. Does have plus hands and runs well with the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Question whether he understands what his own strengths are and how to make them work in the game, given his physical stature. He is a talent though. Accurate thrower as infielder, throws tracked well and showed quick release, arm projects as average on pro scale. Had previously only seen him in the outfield but he took INF quite well.

3/26/18

3/26/18 at Boras Classic - Saw multiple at-bats at the tournament. Compact and strong build on a 5-foot-9 160-pound body. Field presence and competitive nature stood out with Ogans. Energy type player but also has some 'big man' in him and belief that he's in the box to do some damage. Set-up at the plate is a little unique, looks like a Ryan Braun type hand position and beginning of his swing. Has speed and the ability to impact the game with that tool. Slashing type hitting approach with good plate coverage and ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. Runs quick and gets to top speed fairly easily, aggressive baserunner takes big leads and has a bit of a daring style. Ranges around the outfield well with a capable arm. Would like to see how he can play 2nd base, listed as a utility player on the roster but played centerfield in this looks we had at Boras Classic.
