Uncommitted. The 6-foot, 170-pounder has some proportional strength throughout an athletic frame, and took quality at-bats for the West Coast Blackdogs 17U team. The right-handed hitter found the barrel on multiple occasions utilizing a twitchy hands load that includes a late barrel tilt before quickly working uphill through the zone. He played multiple positions on the infield, and also looks like he might provide some depth at a corner outfield position in the future.

SoCal Preseason All-State. Uncommitted. This is our 2nd look at Sidebotham at a PBR event. Sidebotham has made a commitment to getting more physical as there is a noticeable change in lower half strength since last viewing. Displayed a solid batting practice round consistently squaring it up and hitting the ball hard in gaps. Has a slight bat wrap but gets square at contact. Power numbers will increase as he matures. Profiles as a corner infield in the future.
8/18/18
SoCal Underclass Games - Five-foot-11, 170-pounds, medium/large frame with thick, strong lower half and developing strength in upper half. Squared shoulders with room for strength/mass. Sidebotham, the 97th ranked player in the Class of 202 rankings, shows a high ceiling with the hit tool where he has a balanced middle approach. Has fast hands to get the barrel through the zone with the feel to maintain it on plane. Shows strong leverage through the zone. Has present bat speed and gets good extension post contact. Gets the barrel to the ball on a direct path. Shows excellent plate coverage and pitch recognition. Pulled a hanging curveball down the left field line for a double in-game. Defensively Sidebotham shows average range with quick, clean transfers. Hands are soft. Shows ability to throw from multiple angles with accuracy. Backhand is true. Shows excellent body control when moving laterally or charging the ball. Footwork is average in speed but above average in fundamentals.
