Kyle Pott is good but he’s going to end up being really good when it’s all said and done. This was the second time I was able to see Pott throw this year and he stole the spotlight for the most part, going a complete game five-hitter over cross town rival Elk Grove High School. There’s a ton of athleticism when Pott is throwing on the mound, he's got a very wiry frame, along with a loose arm, giving him a ton of upside when he fills out. Pott didn’t have much trouble besides the three walks he gave up over the seven innings, but it’s the way he competes is what catches my eye. Pott throws his fastball in the range of 88-90 MPH T91, he was able to maintain his velocity through his whole outing. Pott mixes in a CB/SL mix that work well off of each other, his slider is sharper sitting between 76-78 MPH and his curveball is between 72-73 MPH, making the elk grove hitters chase and second guess pitches off the plate. The previous week Pott earned Pitcher of the Week for the state of CA, throwing a five inning perfect game against Sheldon High School. The UCSB bound  righty has been one of the Wildcats’ best pitchers on the year along with teammate Dylan Wood, he’s done a great job of going the distance and giving his team the best chance to win, which is going to be crucial for the rest of the year because they have the Boras Classic coming up next week. Pott is the ultimate competitor every time he steps on the mound he’s bound to do something exciting, one of my favorite arms in the ‘25 class.
