BAWS 2019 - Athletic, very fast feet in medium frame with longer lower half; strong upper half with tight chest (6.74 60yd). Even hands starting tall before controlled foot lift with hands having downward flick as he gets into a strong hitting position; loose wrists with ability to handle the bat. Quick bat speed as he stays behind the baseball finishing over firm front leg with quick rotations; direct hands allowing quick bat to have quick arc through the zone. Makes a lot of hard contact out front with line drives through the middle of the field and pull side gap (89 EV). Showed off his bat speed in games picking up multiple hits and using his speed to create issues for defense; 3B into RCF gap, singles into RF/LF and multiple SB’s. Quick feet with easy range in CF; aggressive actions attacking balls with a high release arm keeping balls on the bag (79 MPH). Took away a lot of hits during the games. Solid player with a bright future and chance to impact a ball club at the next level.
4/27/19
V Leigh - Uncommitted. Small frame that is wide and strong with quick actions in the middle of the diamond. Consistently good AB’s in leadoff spot finding hard contact throughout the day and constantly being in a good position defensively. Picked up a 1B in 1st AB with ball off the Pitcher and SS gloves before finishing the day with a 2B past the 1B to set up tying runs in the 8th inning. Agile over fast and instinctive with his runnings skills knowing when to turn it up/down (4.08B, 4.44 H-1st, 4.57T). Defensively shows a good 1st step in OF with understanding of opposing hitters tracking ball well off the bat. Showed off his accurate arm throwing out a runner at 1st who couldn’t get back on a hit-and-run and just missing a guy at the plate. The arm is fair but plays up because of that accuracy and carry on the ball.
