9/13/20

Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-9, 195-pounds. A filled out strong build for a catcher.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open and pre-engaged with his backside in stance. Small leg raise trigger. Compact stroke that is steep-flat. Hands work down and through at contact. Later time to contact. Middle-oppo approach.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity. When out in front some gap power is present. Averaged 68.4 mph bat speed and 13.4 gs of rotational acceleration. Changes in swing path might produce more power.
Arm: RH. C - 78 mph. Short quick arm action. Quick to release. Most throws were straight and online to the bag, some on one hop.
Defense: 2.04-2.15 pop times. Clean exchanges and decent footwork. Framing and receiving skills are there.
Run: 7.97 runner in the 60.

1/04/20

Orange County Preseason All-State - strong and stout catchers build in a 5-foot-9 200 pound frame. Compact and quiet offensive set up led to consistent contact and showed the ability to handle higher velocity. Lack of wasted movement is ideal and the addition of a more explosive lower half could really enhance his swing. Defensively moved his feet fairly well and set up inline with the bag at a consistent rate. Showed a pop-time range of 2.11-2.38. Received well with solid catching actions. Gives a good low target and focal point for pitchers to sight in on.
