3/31/26
The freshmen looked to be in absolute poise. Prep Baseball’s second time seeing Parker did not disappoint. The RHP’s mechanics are repeatable and in control. He rides the slope well, while staying tall, but stacked on his backside. Parker does a great job at getting over his front foot, and being explosive after front foot strike. He came in to a runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out situation in the top of the 5th. He got out of the inning surrendering 2 runs due to errant defensive play. He nearly finished the game, but was pulled in a 3-1 count with 2 outs in the top of the 6th due to pitch count. The fastball lived 82-84 throughout the 2.1 innings, across nearly 45 pitches. The fastball has natural arm-side-run, where it just misses barrels. The most impressive part of the outing was the feel for his offspeed pitches. The SL looked like a hard sweeper, living around 76-78 with exceptional movement and feel in the zone. The CH was extremely effective in the lefty heavy Elk Grove lineup living around 74-76. He had 4 whiffs on the CH while only throwing it a handful of times. Parker even flashed the CH to righties, if he can execute, that will only take his pitching to the next level. Talking numbers, Parker sports a 1.00 ERA through 14 innings with 11Ks and 2BBs. Parker is a pitcher, not a thrower, therefore once he fills into his frame and starts throwing harder, the sky’s the limit.
2/28/26

A 2029 name you’ll want to write down now. Parker turned in an impressive first live look, showing polish well beyond his age with plenty more to come. The still 14-year-old, operates with a loose, downhill delivery, while attacking the edges of the zone with confidence. He showed advanced feel for pitching, particularly with his changeup, which flashed as a real weapon. Parker worked 2 innings out of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two to pick up the win. He sat 82-83 mph with the fastball, commanding it with intent, and paired it with a 73-75 mph slider and a 75 mph changeup that generated heavy whiffs. All three pitches featured movement, creating deception and uncomfortable swings. With projection remaining in the frame and already present command, Parker looks poised to make early contributions as a freshman in 2026. As Rancho Bernardo prepares for turnover after its 2026 senior core graduates, Parker appears to be one of the next young pieces ready to keep the program moving forward.
