6/10/22

Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; has been one of CA's most successful regular season pitchers the last two springs, long and athletic build, well-proportioned with frame to hold more size and strength to gain beyond HS level, flashes stuff to project into upper-80s, feel for zone and willingness to throw strikes is obvious with all pitches, high level of mix-ability and understands how to pitch, FB max 85 at BAWS but have seen a tick better in HS game action, AVG mph 83.6 at BAWS, mixes locations to all quadrants well, keeps pressure on hitters with his strike throwing ability and enough usage of offpseed to offset what is not quite yet a dominant FB, 2054 max spin, CB 69-73 mph, has strike throwing ability with the CB which has smooth rolling action into the zone, on it's own the CB isn't a big time pitch but with high FB usage and feel for the zone his CB plays a complementary role, SL 72-75 mph, similar usage and bite description to the CB, both out of same release height, similarities to the pitches suggests perhaps choosing one over the other, uses CHG as well, similar release which allows for tunneling of 4 pitches from same release and tells a big part of the tale for how he's successful at the HS level. Developing more life and movement and bite on pitches will take him to the next level.

4/05/22

at Wood HS - Uncommitted; Long and lanky, prototypical projection RHP body, arm action, and stuff; is putting together a second consecutive outstanding statistical season, overhand slot, knee lift just above waist, easy delivery and actions, clean backside w/fairly compact stroke, maintains body control throughout though a bit upright at finish, mixes three pitches effectively, has slide step and feel for timing to limit running game, quick feet on pick move, fastball topped 85, settled 81-83 in 3rd inning, flashed sink on arm side and ability to ride it up as well, curveball with smooth action and gradual shape (69-71 mph) fluctuating between 11/5 and occasionally a little more lateral which may have been a slider (73 mph), firm change up with some life in bottom of zone (76-78 mph), CG w/84 pitches, 6 H, 1 R, 2 K, 0 BB; season 6-0, 0.88 ERA, 40 IP, 48 K, 2 BB, 28 H.

10/10/20

Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-1, 155-pounds. Long lanky, lean young body, ample room to put on size and strength as he physically matures.
Delivery: Rhythmic, fluid, high knee lift, tucks over rubber, maintains body control, uses hips well, firm plant foot w/in-line long stride.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, clean quick arm, controls arm swing well, repeats consistently, overhand slot w/lively whip toward release.
FB: T78, 76-78 mph. Flashes steep angle, acv avg movement, power sinker potential, maintains life through the zone, feel of the zone.
CB: 66-68 mph. Flashed as future above average pitch, smaller CB shape with fairly abrupt change of direction, presents as swing and miss pitch.
CH: 70-72 mph. Outstanding finish, big fade w/arm-side movement, late dip can get below bats for GBs and swing-overs.
