9/28/19

Uncommitted - Five-foot-10, 150-pounds. Medium/large frame with present proportional wiry strength throughout the frame and room to continue to add both mass and strength. Opened with a laser-timed 6.89 60-yard dash before taking to the hitting wheel where he demonstrated an improved approach at the plate. There’s more whippiness to the barrel than in recent viewings. Showed to prefer a middle-middle approach by driving balls with a slightly uphill barrel path resulting in backspun balls to the middle part of the field. Showed some sneaky power in driving several balls to the wall. Defensively Blocher showed range to both sides with controlled aggression in approaching balls. Funnels out front before releasing from a 3/4 arm slot with accuracy on his throws. Clocked a 4.49 home-to-first time in-game.

Tall and high hands with narrow stance using slight foot lift; stays behind the ball well with compact, controlled swing. Flashed some power in the games with 3B to RCF showing athletic ability to move easily around the bases; athletic actions in field flashing positional versatility.

1/5/2019 - SoCal Preseason All State - Five-foot-10, 145-pounds. Has a medium frame that is young but athletic. He started the day off running a 6.97 60-yard dash, that was good enough for the 8th best time of the day. From the plate operates from an open set-up with a leg kick trigger. Blocher is very tall at the plate, with very active hands. From the outfield has a ¾ angle arm motion. Registering an outfield velo of 75 MPH. He makes accurate throws, and showed carry on ball. Shows average hands, average footwork and plays through the ball. Showed good athleticism in the outfield taking the proper first step and funnels balls out front.

6/12/18 - 5-foot-10, 145-pounds, long, lean, wiry strong build, high waist and squared shoulders. Frame projects for future addition of mass/strength. Present defined strength in lower half. Uses a neutral setup with an easy load. Incorporates the lower half into his swing well while leading with the hips and using his quick hands to drive the barrel to the ball. Shows a middle-middle approach with some sneaky pull side power. Remains balanced throughout his swing. Maintains barrel on a slight uphill angle throughout his swing. Has some present bat speed. Hands are loose and rhythmic and he gets extension post contact. Defensively he shows fluid footwork as he plays through balls aggressively showing good instincts in understanding angles. Transfers are clean and the arm is accurate on all throws from a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. Present arm strength is slightly above average but projectable with added strength.
