UC Irvine commit. 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with square shoulders, long limbs, and big feet. Pinto's frame projects for future growth both in stature and mass. A two-sport athlete, Pinto is just returning from basketball where he is a standout player. A hyper-athletic pitcher, Pinto does an excellent job of hiding the ball with both a high leg kick and significant shoulder turn. As a result the ball jumps out of his hand and gets on hitters in a hurry, making his stuff play up. His fastball command is above average. He touched 86 mph several times in the first inning, before settling in at 82-84 mph the rest of the outing. His curveball is slurvy and really bites in on right-handed hitters. Pitch was 71-73 mph and he showed good command of it. Pinto shows feel for a developing changeup that works 76-79 mph. All pitches come from a repeatable high three-quarter delivery.
