Bavaro got his first start of the year and held it down for the Rams, he had a great start to his senior season. The southpaw went six innings allowing only one walk, and 11 strikeouts, to put his team in a great position- to win, even though then ended up losing 4-2. Bavaro had his fastball sitting between 85-87 mph T89, the changeup sitting 72-74 mph, and his CB was between 68-70mph. Bavaro controlled the pace of the game, mixing up different tempos and showing no signs of fatigue until his last innings.

v Mitty at Boras Classic - One of the most enjoyable pitchers to scout this season. Saw him start a big game vs Mitty at the Boras Classic, a game his team won in what at the time felt like an upset, though the Rams went on to reach the semi-finals of the SJS-D1 playoffs. Not big in stature or raw stuff, rather, he’s a young artist on the mound. Exceptional feel for such a young age, calm, composed, adds and subtracts with the FB (74-80 mph), landed pretty tight/quick CB (64-65 mph) with regularity and confidence, showed good CHG too. Changes delivery tempos like a season vet, can get hitters to chase/fish. Outstanding pick-off move as well.
